Who Are We?

Meet the V GEES

  • Doll

Hailing from the Wisco‑side “burbs” of the Twin Cities, Doll grew up listening to the classic rock, disco, and new wave bands her older siblings were into. From grade school through college, she was involved in a variety of school and community choirs, ensembles, and musical theatre productions, pursuing musical theatre in college. Doll later spent time in the Chicagoland area as a professional musician, building and leading bands and creative teams and offering vocal coaching. After returning to the Twin Cities and taking a hiatus to raise her kids, Doll has carved out a spot for herself in the local music scene. She fronted local cover band TopShelf for three years and now co‑fronts and co‑manages Femmelectric and is a familiar face at Ziggy’s All‑Stars jams on the east side. Her vocal toolkit includes a broad range, solid mixed-belt, soulful delivery, and ability to mimic just about any vocal performer you care to name. Her favorite track? Love You Inside Out, because nothing beats Barry’s silky-smooth stylings. Mm-mm-mm.

  • P.J.

Patsy, or ‘PJ’, was born with music in her DNA – literally! Her aunt was a blues-singer in Memphis nightclubs, and those entertainment genes have certainly been passed down to PJ. But that is not all, she is also a musical product of her own southern roots, where she was raised on a diet of classical music, traditional marching band fare, pop radio and good ol’ southern rock ‘n roll —roller skates and all. With The V Gees, PJ channels her inner Brothers Gibb, excited to bring the disco inferno to stages everywhere. When she is not belting out “Night Fever” or “Jive Talkin”, PJ can be found gracing the stage at Ziggy’s All-Stars jams or trying to convince her cover band Heroes End bandmates to play “Stayin’ Alive”. It’s all about the music, baby … and PJ’s got it running through her veins like a funky bass line. Her favorite Bee Gees tune? Why, “You Should Be Dancin’” of course, because WE ALL should be!

  • Tuney

Tuney comes to us as an experienced vocalist with a four-octave range, which developed over her 35-year vocal career. Singing in school choirs and ensemble groups from elementary grades through high school, she eventually landed a vocal scholarship with the University of Minnesota. Continuing in that vein, Sara pursued musical theater locally and nationally, and had many varied opportunities in singing, choreography, and directing as well as appearing in a handful of films before gigging with the bands StarFish and Morning Glory, both out of the Twin Cities. After playing for some years while working in education as a teacher, and entering the world of parenting, Sara returned to “band life” and is excited to be performing again with local cover bands, Revved UP! and Femmelectric. Tuney’s favorite Bee Gee’s song is “I Started a Joke”, because “the lyrics are just achingly sad and Robin sings them with such a raw vulnerability. It’s beautiful”.

  • Kent

Kent is a veteran of the Twin Cities music scene. He loves a variety of music - both to listen to and to play. He’s played with original rock bands, variety cover bands, improvisational space rock, live soundtracks for silent films, and a wide range of tribute bands. He’s also toured widely both in the US and Europe. Kent currently plays with ELnO, MILITZËR, Paris 1919, Scott Allen and The List, The Wandering Suns, among others.
His love of the Bee Gees music goes back many years. The first time he heard “I Started A Joke” he was hooked on those brotherly melodies and harmonies. But his favorite is probably one from the disco years - Nights On Broadway. The fact that he sees Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake in his head every time he hears this song has nothing to do with it.
    Ok - maybe a little.

  • Pete

Hailing from Fargo, ND,and now based in Minneapolis, Pete’s been chasing grooves since his teens when he hit the road with The Street Band playing the Midwest circuit. After relocating to the Twin Cities in 2010 and a run with Brat Pack Radio, he built a reputation as a go-to drummer, freelancing with everyone from GB Leighton to Anthony Shore’s Elvis Tribute All Star Band, to name a couple. In 2016, Pete launched his passion project The Band That Fell To Earth, a David Bowie tribute that has rocked heaters and shared bills with Night Ranger, Collective Soul, Rick Springfield, and Daughtry. He’s even gone stick-for-stick onstage with Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Gina Schock of The Go-Go’s—three times! When he’s not behind the kit live, Pete’s usually in the studio laying down drum tracks for local artists. And if you ask about his favorite Bee Gees tune, he’ll tell you straight: “The first time I heard ‘Nights On Broadway’ through my dad’s big JBL speakers, that bass hit me like a freight train—and I’ve been hooked ever since”.

  • David

David is a seasoned Twin Cities keyboardist, composer, and singer-songwriter. The son of a music-composing father, David grew up on the music of The Beatles, where his love of complex harmonies and song structures was developed. He earned a degree in Audio Production from Minnesota State University - Moorhead in 2012 and brought his talents to the Twin Cities soon after. Over the years, he has played keyboards in local bands Sawyer’s Dream and Space Hug and is now enjoying the richness of the Bee Gees catalogue. As a singer-songwriter, he released his debut album, “Elastic Plastic”, in 2021. His favorite Bee Gees song is “Alone” because “although it’s not a complex keyboard song, it has a great groove and feels so satisfying to play.”

  • Rich

Based in Minneapolis but originally from Bismarck, ND, Rich got his start playing high school proms and homecomings.  An original song he wrote, Rubber Doll Girls, is still a much-requested favorite among those hailing from the state. Rich has been a part of the Minneapolis music scene for decades, playing in popular original and cover bands, including 3 Below, Playhouse, Box of Rocks, Supraluxe, Jellyjacket, and others.  He is an in-demand bass player with a wide repertoire.  He is also an IT Director. Naming a favorite Bee Gees song is a very subjective thing as there are so many amazing songs to choose from, but “Night Fever” has always stood out to him as a perfect pop song.  He plays the entire Bee Gees catalog with joie de vivre, and he hopes you have as much fun seeing The V Gees as he has playing this timeless music.
